Stamford Park Trust Christmas Gift Appeal Brings Joy to Over 150 Children

18 December 2025

The Stamford Park Trust Christmas Gift Appeal 2025 has delivered festive cheer to families across Tameside, ensuring hundreds of children woke up to presents on Christmas morning thanks to the generosity of the Trust’s academies and the wider community.

The appeal was led by Astley Sports Village, serving as a central hub for collection and coordination of the gifts and donations. Academies from across the Trust came together to make the appeal a success, with each academy setting up a collection point and actively encouraging donations. Staff, students and families contributed generously, donating toys, games, warm clothing and other thoughtful gifts. The combined efforts across all schools ensured a steady flow of donations, highlighting the Trust’s shared commitment to supporting families and children in need this Christmas.
This year’s appeal supported a record-number of 71 families, providing Christmas gifts for 152 children from Tameside primary and secondary schools. Every child received at least four to six presents, helping to create a joyful and memorable Christmas Day.

An impressive £2,000 was raised in financial donations, alongside an extraordinary community response that saw over 800 presents donated. In a powerful display of teamwork, more than 30 ASV members and local volunteers came together to wrap all the gifts, completing the task in a record of two hours.

The appeal also provided extra support beyond gifts. Seven of the most at-risk families will receive financial assistance with heating costs over the Christmas period while schools are closed, helping to keep homes warm during the colder months.
Support was also extended to young people leaving care, with over 300 clothing items donated for Tameside Futures Care Leavers aged 16–18, enabling them to access warm, practical clothing this Christmas.

The Stamford Park Trust Christmas Gift Appeal 2025 reflects the power of collaboration across the Trust and the wider community, bringing warmth, dignity and festive joy to families and young people across Tameside.
