Ashton Sixth Form College is a leading provider of post-16 education in the Tameside borough. With years of experience, dedicated teaching, high expectations for learners and a diverse study programme, learners achieve and exceed.
The college offers a range of A Level, Vocational and T Level courses. In 2020, 72% of students progressed to university, the highest number of students to do so from Ashton in the last four years.
Following an inspection in January 2020, Ashton Sixth Form College was given the highest possible rating by Ofsted, judging the college as OUTSTANDING in all areas. In 2020, the college was officially the top performing college in the borough for the fourth year running, according to the Department for Education (DfE). The college was also recognised as the fourth highest performing college in Greater Manchester.
In 2019, more students than ever secured top marks across both A level and Vocational courses with over 750 A*/A grades awarded to students˚, 70% high grades (A*-B) were achieved˚ and 38 courses achieved 100% pass rates. In addition, an impressive 94% of all grades achieved on Level 3 courses were A*-C˚ . (˚ figures include vocational equivalents)
